Conference Wrap-Up!

A Message from Our New President:

From all accounts, the 41st Annual Training Conference and Exposition in Atlanta was a rousing success. More than 400 attendees from OCSE, Tribal Nations and 42 states converged on Atlanta to learn updates in the child support arena and to get a taste of the city. Many ERICSA Board and Association members kicked off the conference theme of "Building a Dream for Our Children" by participating in two building projects in conjunction with the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. This was a very inspiring and rewarding experience, hands and hammers helping to make housing better for families. We were quite a sight during and after this endeavor.....you should click on Photos to get the impact!

Our opening ceremonies truly set the tone with the precious and heart- touching voices of the Westminster School Children's Chorus as they belted out Hogie Carmichael's "Georgia" and so sweetly crooned "Let There Be Peace On Earth", a message that should be heeded by all. Dr. Sheri Heller was inspiring and entertaining as she gave us her vision for the child support community in the coming years.

All the workshops were thought provoking and geared toward improving program performance and customer service. My sincere appreciation goes to the session coordinators, speakers and moderators who worked so hard to make these workshops informative and successful.

Those of us who attended the Braves/Diamondbacks game on Tuesday were witness to a piece of history: only the 17th Perfect Game in the history of baseball! Top all that off by being wildly entertained by our motivational speaker and becoming card-toting members of the Brooks Coleman Rider Club (click on Photos for shots with Roy Rogers) and you have the perfect ERICSA experience.

The ERICSA annual conference has a reputation for providing top notch training and the opportunity to network and make contacts with workers from other states. Program Chair Jeff Ball is already begun the process of getting next year's conference planning off the ground. So, mark your calendars now to join us May 15-19, 2005 in Portland , Maine for what should prove to be another hallmark ERICSA event.

Have a good summer!
